An event to flip motherhood penalty
to motherhood power

Motherhood changes us. Identities shift, we grow, we expand – not once but many times.

It sharpens how we see ourselves, what we expect, what truly matters, and the example we set for the next generation.

AllBright’s Motherhood Works Summit explores the powerful transformations that motherhood sparks, and how it redefines success, reshapes ambition, and helps to clarify what comes next.

Panel  The Transformation

How the identity shifts of motherhood make us stronger

Motherhood disrupts identity before it rebuilds it. From the psychological shift of matrescence to the invisible weight of the mental load, to the ‘letting go in later parenting, the identity shifts are complex and real. This panel explores the emotional and mental health journey of becoming and being a mother, and the villages that help women reclaim these shifts as strength, not failure.

Panel  What Do I Actually Want Now?

Redesigning success on your own terms

Motherhood has a way of making the old version of success feel like it belongs to someone else. Your previous career path or expectations may not fit the same way. This panel is about the internal shift: what motherhood revealed about what you truly value, why your priorities look different now, and how you can deliberately rewrite what growth and success mean to you.

Panellists include:

Panel Ambition, Rewritten

A practical playbook for moving forward

You know something has shifted. Now what? This panel moves from reflection to action; the honest, practical reality of building a career that actually works for you now. From negotiating flexibility and knowing your worth, to making a pivot, rebuilding confidence, or simply asking for what you need: our panellists share what they changed, what worked, and what they wish they’d done sooner. You’ll leave with something concrete to try.

Panellists include:
Zoe Blaskey, founder, author and podcaster
Shazia Mustafa, founder, entrepreneur, CEO

Panel  What Motherhood Sharpens And What to do with it

Motherhood takes a lot. But it also sharpens something: a clarity about what matters, a confidence that’s harder to shake, and zero tolerance for nonsense.

This closing panel is about what comes into focus and, crucially, what you do with it. How do you take the conviction and agency you’ve developed and actually use it? We dive into asking for more, showing up differently, and backing yourself; our panellists have done exactly that, and they’re here to show you how.

Panellists include:
Ruby Hammer MBE, global makeup artist, brand founder and beauty expert
Anna Mathur, psychotherapist and author
Host: Sophie Catto, Joint MD, AllBright everywoman

Our Charity Partner

AllBright Motherhood Works is delighted to be supporting The Motherless Mothers.

£10 of every ticket sale will be donated.

It takes a village to raise a mother and child, but what happens when the most essential part of your village isn’t there?

For 1 in 3 new mums, they are facing motherhood without their own mum due to death, estrangement, dementia, physical absence, or a complicated relationship.

The impact? An entirely different experience of motherhood emotionally, practically and mentally.
95% of motherless mothers feel isolated.
85% say pregnancy or early motherhood reopened their grief.
80% are experiencing mental health difficulties such as anxiety or depression.
Postnatal depression is 3x the national average, 5x higher in the US.

This is why The Motherless Mothers exists. Motherless mothers often feel unseen, misunderstood, and unsupported. But we’re here to change that. Our mission is to provide the support and representation that every motherless mother needs.

Because this experience deserves recognition, research, support and language.
